Michel Parent has a Master’s degree, with specialisation in heat transfer and thermodynamics, from the University of Waterloo. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Laval University. From 1988 to 1990, he was in charge of the Solar Energy Laboratory at Université du Québec’s Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS).
In 1990, he became a member of the Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec’s Energy group as a R&D engineer. He was involved in a number of product development projects where custom-made, computer-based design tools where developed. He was the group’s principal numerical modelling expert. He also actively participated to prototype construction and test phases of product development and is familiar with data acquisition methods.
M. Parent has been in charge of major energy efficiency and technico-economic evaluations for Hydro-Québec and for CEDRL. He also participated in energy efficiency evaluations of HVAC equipment for NRCan. Throughout these projects, he has acquired an in-depth knowledge of energy efficiency simulation and software development using professional tools such as Visual C++ with MFC.
In 1996, Mr. Parent founded Technosim with Mr. Boulanger Technosim Inc. |
